Written and directed by Academy Award-winner and 2006 Sarasota Film Festival Tributee Robert Towne and Produced by 2006 Sarasota Film Festival Tributee Paula Wagner, Ask The Dust is Towne’s powerful adaptation of John Fante’s depression-era novel. Set in Los Angeles, the film follows a young dreamer named Arturo Bandini (Colin Farrell), the son of Italian immigrants who dreams of becoming a famous novelist and Camilla Lopez (Salma Hayek), a Mexican looking to assimilate to America by marrying a WASP. Bandini and Camilla collide with one another, fighting the city and their own demons to make their dreams come true. The Sarasota Film Festival is honored to present this special screening of Ask The Dust in honor of 2006 Tributees Robert Towne and Paula Wagner.
