SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2013 SARASOTA FILM FESTIVAL ARE NOW CLOSED FOR ALL CATEGORIES.
Submissions for SFF 2014 begin in September.

The SFF emphasizes the best in cinema with over 45,000 attendees each year, we rank among the largest festivals in the southeastern United States. Our industry attendance is also impressive — recent guests include reps from IFC, Sony Pictures Classics, First Run Features, Fortissimo Films, Cinetic and Participant Media. What's more, SFF selections are heavily promoted by attending media outlets, which in the past have included USA Today, GQ Magazine, Vanity Fair, Variety, IndieWIRE, Filmmaker Magazine, The Huffington Post and Screen International.

Our city takes pride in its renowned hospitality and works hard to ensure that filmmakers have a great and productive time at the Festival. Networking is made easy by our intimate and relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to create lasting connections with industry pros and find the support of educated and enthusiastic audiences. In-competition filmmakers also receive travel and accommodations to attend SFF and every exhibiting filmmaker receives an all-access pass to screenings and events.

MORE ABOUT THE SFF

The Sarasota Film Festival supports and encourages filmmakers, provides networking opportunities and open dialogue with film fans, and attracts local and international audiences for the annual festival and year-round programs, all while fostering economic, educational, and cultural benefit for the local community.

The SFF hosts a Narrative Feature Competition for international and domestic narrative films; an Independent Vision Competition specifically for low-budget American films and emerging US artists; and a Documentary Feature Competition that has earned the Festival recognition as one of the "Top 20 Festivals for Documentaries" by All These Wonderful Things. The Blog adds, SFF is "one of the top regional festivals in the US and the best documentary showcase in the Southeast." Generous post-production packages are awarded to the winning films in each competition category.

Variety sums it up best: "Regarded by many as the acme of a regional American film fest, Sarasota possesses virtues that run both sides of the podium. On the one hand, a team of informed, passionate programmers; on the other, an intensely loyal, slightly older-skewing audience who turn out in numbers.... Visitors praise the sense of community the fest fosters, with a high number of filmmakers flown in."

A top regional stop for emerging filmmakers and a destination event for cinephiles everywhere, The SFF is not to be missed.
