The Sarasota Film Festival is organizing curated screenings of classic American and foreign films through its Cinematheque program. Each screening is preceded by an introduction from a film historian and followed by a Q&A. The first screening of “Casablanca” on Dec 1st was a success – we made money by selling 70 tickets, popcorn and merch. We plan to hold several such screenings every month and also get sponsorship and grants – especially for the educational component where we will bring students to these screenings. We are working with local film teachers to incorporate CInematheque screenings into their curriculums.
