Su Friedrich returns to the subject of one of her most beloved films, her mother Lore. While their earlier collaboration focused on her mother’s experience as a German during who survived WWII, I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW I FEEL remains in the present. At 94, Lore is suffering from memory loss and dementia and must be moved, kicking and screaming, from her Chicago home to an independent living facility in Long Island. Su and her siblings chronicle all of the complex and varied emotions which arise for adult children caring for their elderly parents.
