"The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" + "Building Hope" Panel

SFF Education and the buildOn Foundation are partnering to present a special screening of the new Netflix film THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND, about a thirteen year old boy in Malawi who invents an unconventional way to save his family and village from famine, based on the true story of William Kamkwamba. SFF Education partnered with the buildOn Foundation to engage local students in impactful community service, helping raise funds to build a school in Malawi, Africa. Preceding the screening, SFF will host a brief presentation featuring past buildOn participants who worked to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy for students in impoverished countries. The panelists will speak about their powerful experiences and show videos.
