The Camp Poplar Cannon

A young Sioux woman from the Fort Peck Reservation in far northeastern Montana, a local history enthusiast, and an antiques weapons expert, work together to restore a Civil War era cannon and build a small museum exhibit to tell the story of the Battle of Camp Poplar River, a little known battle between the US Army and the last of the “Non-Treaty Sioux” on January 2nd, 1881.
