Parachute

Wendy is one of thousands of Chinese "parachute kids" seeking a new kind of American Dream: her parents saved up for years to earn her a one-way ticket to the US and a coveted spot at an American high school.

But upon arrival, she found that the "school" is clearly not what the brochures promised. Over time, her Dream has morphed into disdain. She's alone, an ocean away from home, and invisible in the looming shadow of Silicon Valley.

Everything changes when a new Chinese student moves in with Wendy's host family. Mei Ling is kind and caring... but is she friend or foe?
